Kalkatta Chat Bhandar - Besan Chilla

Name - Kalkatta chat wale
Location - Vaniki Marg, C - Scheme, jaipur
Landmark - Road between secretariat and sbbj bank, behind udhyog bhawan.
Day - Mon to Sat
Time - 11 am to 6 pm
Specialists - besan ka chilla (gramflour pancake)
Category - Street Food
Ambiance - Well none, You have to sit on stools or in your car or use your two wheeler seat :P

Rajasthan me besan ka chilla koi nayi dish nahi he. Subah subah nashte me ya sham ki chai ke sath garam garam beaan ka chilla swad aur sehat dono ka sathi he. Besan ka chilla ek bahut hi simple and fatafat banne wala dish h. log ise vegetarian ka omelet bhi kahte h ;)
Well kafi time se mene tiwarri ji ki chat k bare me suna tha. Lekin har bar jab bhi try karna chaha. Ya to weekend hota ya sham ko late ho jane ki wajah se jab bhi pahuchti to pata chalta sara mall khallas :D khair ek din aisa a hi gaya jab mene unhe pakad hi liya. And then us din mene mauke pe chauka mara or order kar diya tiwari ji ka mashhoor besan ka chilla.

What comes in the package - 1 besan chilla contains onion, green chilli, besan, urad dal
3 types chutney - spicy garlic chutney, green coriander chutney, sweet tangy sonth chutney.
2 tyoes curd - plain curd with gronded sika hua jeera, sweet curd mixed with sonth chutney (I guess ;) )
Channa subji - spicy masaledar kale chane
Salad - chopped onion.
Cost - INR 60

Taste - well being a rajasthani ek cheej jo lagbhag har maheene do maheene me ghar pe khate hi rahte wo bahar kuch twist ke sath mile to ek sweet sa surprise milta h. Ye chilla bhi kuch aisa hi tha. Ek bada sa chilla jisme onion chillies ka combination tha jo use aur bhi tasty bana raha tha. Uske sath dahi wo bhi 2 alag tarah ka ek naya twist tha. 1 dahi bahut hi simpke plain without salt tha bas usme bhuna hua jeera tha. Dusra dahi jisme mere khayal se sauth wali chautny hi mili hui thi thode aur spices jo ki in total ek nice package tha sath me.

3 tarah ki chutney me 1 garlic chutney jo ki meri personal fav he. Mene kai jagah ki garlic chutney khayi h. Aur har jagah ki chutney me wo bat nahi hoti jo traditional garlic chutney me maja hota h. Ye chutney bhi wesi up to mark to nahi lekin mention karne wali bat h ki kahi kam bhi nahi thi. Baki jagah ki chutney ki tarah runny nahi thi. Achhi gadhi and full of spices with a blend of perfect khatai. In total a above average garlic chutney.  Which is really good as perfect garlic chutney banna apne ap me ek art h ;) (see I m a true garlic chutney fan)

Second was green coriander chutney which was an average one. Not anything to mention more. A simple green chutney jesi hoti h. But yes perfevt balance of spices and khatai. As kai jagah excess khatai coriander and mint flaovir flavor ko daba deti h jo isme nahi tha.

Teesri sauth ki chutney, the sweet one. Well itne sab spices me kuch meetha tp chahiye hi tha. To ye ek perfect accompaniment tha in sab spices ke sath. Sauth ki chutney jism3 bhuna jeera ka flavour dominant tha. But still kuch aisa nahi jo ki over the top lage.

Last but not the least a total surprise for me. Kala chana sabji or salad.  Ye ek traditional preparation nahi thi chana banane ki lekin chille ke sath chana. Boss ye thpught hi exciting he. Ek dam complete meal. Chana ek dam well cooked. Gravey na jyada spicy na feeki. Perfect jesi chane ke feeke taste ko complete karne ke liye chhaiye hoti h. Na jyada runny na jayda sukha. ek dam sahi laptwa grsvy jo chille ke sath sahi match ho rahi thi.
Verdict - in all ye ek complete snack h. Ek halki fulki bhookh me try karne ke liye healthy option.  Jo ki baki pizza burger sandwich ki bajay apko helath k sath sath filling ka anubhav bhu deta h. Taste wesa to nahi jesa me expect kar rshi thi but yes traditional chilla ko bhul kar ye twisty chilla ek alag hi maja h taste karne ko. Nothing very much extra ordinary in taste yet the combination of chana and other things make it different.
Can try more then once - yes

Happy meter - :) :) :) :

Rath Yatra - Rishbhdev, Udaipur

www.padharorajasthan.com
Paryushan - A great Jain festival. Paryushan is an eternal festival relating neither to people nor to any historical event. It is a time to celebrate the natural qualities of the Soul. Just as the Soul does not have a beginning or an end, Paryushan does not have a beginning or an end.

Bhagwan Rishabh Dev is regarded as an incarnation of Lord Vishnu according to the Hindu text of Bhagavata Purana. He was the first Jain Tirthankara in India.

Here we are sharing pictures of rath yatra of Jain Bhagwan, from town Rishabhdev. Rishabhdev town is situated in Udaipur district. This is really a great pleasure to eyes and soul where you feel direct soulful connection with bhagwan Rishabhdev and their teachings.
We thank our friend Mr. Kalpesh Jain for sharing this almighty moment with us.

Look at the calmness and stability of water. As if its saying - "Today I am still and steady to welcome my cheerful guests of tomorrow."

With this great feeling of excitement filled with devotion we thank Mrs Swati singh Rathore for sharing this pic with us and making us feel blessed.

Khajuraho of Rajasthan - Kiradu temple

Kiradu temples are about 35 km from Barmer a towm situated in Thar desert in Indian state of Rajasthan . These temples feature impressive sculpture and a Solanki style of arhitecture, and date back to circa 1000 A.D. and later. There are five temples in all and most remarkable and biggest of them is Someshvara Temple - dedicated to Lord Shiva.

The other four temples, also considered as ancient are dedicated to Lord Shiva and Vishnu (the Preserver in the holy trinity of Hindu Kiradu today lies buried in a valley of barren hills. One can stay there for days without meeting another human soul, but it is an overwhelming experience, entirely different from the routine tourist places of India. www.padharorajasthan.com
