Shakambhari Mata Mandir, Udaipur Vati – Sikar, Rajasthan

Shakambhari is another divine form of goddess Durga which originated from “Shaka” – Veggies or food and “Bhari” - who wears.
As per the story in Devi Bhagwat Puran, chapter 28, it is said that, once there was no rain for a 100 year. This affected all the human beings terribly. In the same tenure the demon Durgam had acquired all the Vedas from lord brahma. Then devi durga came in the avatar of Mata Shakambhari with wearing lots of veggies and fruits on her to save the human beings and get back the Vedas.

It is located nearly 40 km from Sikar in Rajasthan. One can find all day running transport facility from Sikar as well as from Jaipur for the temple.
The temple is beautifully carved in between the hills. There is an outstanding mirror work done in the whole interior of temple. The surrounding of temple is simply eye catching. There is an old dame near the temple.  Overall its an divine feeling with beautiful sights while the journey.
